Every month we shout burgers to the legends among us who give back to their community or help people in need.
This month, we shout out to the team at Kids in Need for their incredible work and commitment to providing support, comfort and dignity to vulnerable kids in care in the Waikato region.
Kids in Need provide essential care packages filled with all the necessities they may need to feel comfortable as often they will arrive at their new placement with little to call their own. Kids in Need spends the time to thoughtfully select items to ensure each child feels valued and supported during this challenging time.
2024 saw Kids in Need but together over 1,700 packs, with this year already sitting at 605 packs organised, that is equating to an average of 143 packs needed each month. This is all possible with the amazing help of their volunteers who work countless hours to ensure they can get packs to those who need it most.
As winter approaches, there is an urgent need for warm items, such as blankets, track pants, sweatshirts, anything to keep these kids warm over the colder months. Head here to see how you can donate.
